Not to brag, but Braxton is I guess you could call it, "advanced". He can proudly count to ten and say, "ABC". He also knows many songs and the actions to them. Three cute stories:
FIRST:Just recently he has begun saying things on his own without me having to coax him into it. As I was fixing his favorite cereal(Cinnamon Toast Crunch: which Grandma gets just for him), he was talking to himself in his high chair. All of the sudden he starts counting, my ears hear him, as usual, but this time he didn't stop at ten. Somehow he now knows how to count to about 15, give or take a few wrong numbers. I don't know where he learned it because I've never counted past ten with him! My guess is that it was from some toy or something.
SECOND: to my suprise, today as I was showing him my painted nails, he pointed to my little finger and says, "pinkie". I didn't think much of it and then he points to my middle finger and says, "tall man" (of course referring to the "where is tumbkin" song). It even took me a minute to catch on. It's just so funny the way he puts things together!
THIRD: today on the way to Park City we stopped off to get a Subway. There were two black trucks parked on either side of us. I've been showing him how to count THINGS and not to just count. I said, "Look, there is one, two black trucks". He consequently looked at me and answered with,"buckle my shoe"!! It was so funny!
Apparently he listens more than I thought. I should probably keep that in mind for years to come!
